Australia – last few games – most recent game on top
Ghana 1-1 Australia (Brett Holman)
Germany 4-0 Australia
United States 3-1 Australia ( Tim Cahill)
Australia 1-0 Denmark ( Joshua Kennedy)
Australia 2-1 New Zealand ( Dario Vidosic, Brett Holman)

Australia need to win with a very big margin to have any chance of qualifying. They will be boosted by the return of Tim Cahill who was suspended for the Ghana game. Harry Kewell was sent off for a handball on the goal line and will miss this game. Another player missing would be experienced defender Craig Moore who has picked up two yellows. Scott Chipperfield should deputise for him.

Serbia – last few games – most recent game on top
Serbia 1-0 Germany (Jovanovic)
Ghana 1-0 Serbia
Serbia 4-3 Cameroon ( Milos Krasic, Dejan Stankovic, Nenad Milijas, Marko Pantelic)
Poland 0-0 Serbia
New Zealand 1-0 Serbia

Given the plethora of attacking talent in their squad, Serbia have not scored much in recent times. Zigic and Pantelic have not been at their best. Jovanovic, Stankovic and Krasic will be hoping to get some urgency into Serbia’s play. Radomir Antic’s men sat back in the second half against a 10-man German outfit and were lucky not to be punished for it.

Alexander Lukovic will be available for the Serbs after suspension. But he is not expected to displace Neven Subotic from the centre back spot. Serbia’s entire back four – Subotic, Vidic, Ivanovic and Kolarov are on a yellow – thus walking a defensive tightrope.
